TORONTO — Actor Channing Tatum has revealed he often gets lost in his Magic Mike XXL co-star Matt Bomer’s eyes.

“No matter if you’re a man, woman, cat, hamster, you will get lost in matt bomer’s eyes,” he wrote during a hilarious and candid Ask Me Anything (AMA) session Wednesday on Reddit.

“I don’t know what they are made of outside of dreams and rainbows and amazingness but it truly doesn’t matter.”

Tatum also admitted he’d love to get a lap dance from Magic Mike XXL‘s Kevin Nash.

“I’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to be tiny in his arms and thrown around,” he said.
Which co-star would beat him in a fight? Joe Manganiello.

“It would be a messy fight,” he said. “The light would probably bounce off of his pectoral muscles and blind me.”

The 35-year-old, who is married to actress Jenna Dewan Tatum, revealed he calls his penis “Gilbert” and said fans are welcome to grab his butt — on one condition.

“You’d have to ask my wife,” he said. “It depends on her mood.”

One fan asked which three items he would bring to an island.

“How about a magical seashell that’s always filled with bourbon,” replied Tatum. “And I would like magical palm tree that had a lot of shade with instead of coconuts there’s just peanut butter jelly sandwiches with cheetos underneath.

“And my wife that is always happy and possibly naked.”

Here’s what else fans learned during Tatum’s AMA:

His favourite Disney character is “the broom from Fantasia.”

He loves Pinterest. “Swear to god. Just to not think about all the s*** I have to do or what’s going wrong, I just go and look at Pinterest.”

He saw pal Shia LaBeouf’s viral motivational speech video. “I’m not sure I actually understood it,” Tatum admitted.

Asked how many times is too many times to watch his 2005 movie Step Up, Tatum replied: “I guess you need to see it as many times as it takes you to realize how bad my acting is in it. And fast forward to the dancing parts after that.”

This year’s box office flop, Jupiter Ascending. What was that? “Great question. I have the same one to myself.”

He probably wouldn’t play James Bond. “It would be a very hard turndown,” Tatum admitted. “But I don’t know. There is a very strong strong voice inside that tells me James Bond probably should always be a true United Kingdomer … it shouldn’t be an american putting on an english accent.”

How will he survive the zombie apocalpyse? “I would find a crossbow, and an army of ninja chimpanzees that crush people all around me … or I would just go to Sandra Bullock’s house as I’m sure she has all that stuff because she’s dope and kick-a**.”

Channing Tatum and the Quest for the Perfect Buzz

How two young entrepreneurs and one Hollywood A-Lister, with the help of a caffeinated Amazonion “super leaf,” are trying to shake up the $30 billion energy-drink market with a healthier alternative.

Channing Tatum has a recurring dream in which he sprints furiously across an unfamiliar landscape, then, arms outstretched, takes flight, soaring above the terrain like a hang glider. A version of this dream comes to him one night in spring of 2014, while dozing in a hammock deep inside Ecuador’s rainforest. This time he runs up a hill dotted with tall trees. At the crest stands a forbidding wall that rises as he draws nearer. Barefoot, he bounds up the wall and, reaching the top, sees a vast territory unfurling toward the horizon. He pauses, then plunges down the other side.
The next morning Tatum recounts the details of the dream to a group of us sitting on tree stumps around a smoldering fire, in a remote indigenous Sápara settlement near the border of Peru. The villagers have painted our cheeks with a reddish pigment made from tree seeds, issued us each Sápara names (Tatum takes “Tsamaraw,” which means “protector spirit”), and blown tobacco smoke into our faces to expel negative energy.
In our hands are coconut shells that contain a caffeinated elixir we’ve traveled 4,000 miles to find: guayusa, a plant native to the western Amazon, whose green, elliptical leaves have been a staple of the region’s indigenous populations for thousands of years.
The Sápara drink guayusa (“gwhy-YOU-sa”) for stamina, and as a tool to interpret dreams. Shipibo medicine men in Peru prescribe a strong, guayusa-based drink to patients who suffer from trauma, as a way to conquer fear. The Kichwa people, in Ecuador’s northern jungle, say the plant also kills hunger, and often pack guayusa leaves as their only sustenance on long hunting expeditions.
A Kichwa man had described to me the mystical circumstances surrounding the discovery of the plant’s energy-boosting properties. It was during an era of tribal warfare; one night the spirit of a tree told a sleeping Kichwa sentinel, “Hey friend, I can help you.” The sentinel awoke to find a bush rustling nearby. He chewed its leaves, and immediately felt alert and animated. Today the Kichwa refer to guayusa as “the night watchman’s plant.”
Tatum, the star of Foxcatcher and this summer’s Magic Mike XXL, has come to the Amazon to sample the plant for a different reason. An investor in the New York-based beverage startup Runa (a Kichwa word meaning “fully alive”), the first company to produce drinks containing guayusa, he wants to learn everything there is to know about it. We’ve spent the last few days with Runa’s co-founders, Tyler Gage and Dan MacCombie, drinking, farming, and literally bathing in guayusa as women pour bucketfuls over our heads.
Gage and MacCombie represent the latest entrepreneurial rush into the rainforest—a place from which, in recent years, marketers have emerged with billion-dollar beverage products like açai. Leveraging Tatum’s celebrity, the pair hope to break into the $30 billion energy drink market, a field dominated by Red Bull and brands like Monster Beverage, which has concocted a juggernaut out of guarana, another caffeinated Amazonian plant. Trouble is, unlike guarana, few people have heard of guayusa. Tatum, Runa’s unofficial spokesman (his exact role is still being hashed out), hopes to change that.
After Tatum finishes describing his dream, a soft-spoken Sápara man focuses on him: “Your running represents the instinct of always striving to go further,” he says. “By making it to the top, you made it in your personal, professional, and spiritual life—there is nowhere else to go. But that expanse on the other side: That is the platform to recognize who you truly are.”
I wait for Tatum to lighten the mood. After all, this is the Jump Street star whose dick jokes have gone viral. He’s also a well-known prankster off camera. In fact, earlier this trip, he yanked me from a raft into a fast-flowing river and goaded me into eating a squirming grub from a palm tree. I expect him to respond to this shamanic psychoanalysis with a self-deprecating joke.
Instead Tatum nods along earnestly, pauses, then takes a sip from his coconut shell and launches into yet another dream, about waking up in a room from which he can’t escape. “This happens a lot,” he begins, “and I wonder what it means...”

Channing Tatum Biography

Posted by Unknown on 02:40
Channing Tatum is an American actor who's starred in films like Coach Carter, 21 Jump Street and Dear John.
Synopsis
Channing Tatum was born and raised in Alabama, appearing in front of the camera for the first time professionally as a fashion model. He began acting in 2004 with a role on CSI: Miami, and has since appeared in more than 20 films, including HavocStop-Loss and Haywire. His recent projects includeFoxcatcher (2014) and Magic Mike XXL (2015).

Early Life

Channing Tatum was born on April 26, 1980, in Cullman, Alabama, later moving to Wetumpka and then Mississippi when he was 6 years old. Tatum attended Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida and transferred to Tampa Catholic High School after his sophomore year. Upon graduation, he was offered a football scholarship to Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia, but turned it down to pursue other interests.

Early TV and Film Projects

Tatum was discovered on the streets of Miami and signed with a modeling agency, soon appearing in print ads for brands such as Nautica, Gap, American Eagle Outfitters and Abercrombie & Fitch. His first job in front of a motion picture camera came when he was cast as a dancer in Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" music video. Tatum also starred in a few television commercials for the likes of Pepsi and Mountain Dew.
The dancer and model began his acting career in 2004, with a small role on TV's CSI: Miami. He decided then to pursue acting fill-time, and his first feature film role came the next year in the drama Coach Carter, opposite Samuel L. Jackson. That same year, Tatum had small roles inHavocSupercross and Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds.

Roles in Variety of Genres

Tatum had a big 2006, landing two lead roles in Step Up—in which he co-starred with Jenna Dewan, whom he would marry in 2009—and She's the Man. He also had a primary role in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, which won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and landed Tatum nominations for both Gotham and Independent Spirit awards.
After acting in four films in 2007 and 2008, Tatum hit the big screen in 2009 with two high-profile projects: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Michael Mann's Public Enemy, which also starred Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Showing his range as an actor, Tatum's next roles were a change of pace from the action dramas of 2009, as he took the lead role in the romantic drama Dear John and appeared in the comedy The Dilemma. Around this time, he was also in Haywire (an action film), The Vow (a romance) and 21 Jump Street (a comedic action film), routinely refusing to pigeonhole himself as an actor.

'Magic Mike,' '22' and 'Foxcatcher'

In 2012, Tatum found himself once again working with Steven Soderbergh (who directed him in Havoc), with Magic Mike, a film about an enterprising male stripper. Tatum's 2013 schedule saw him reprising his role of Duke inG.I. Joe: Retaliation, and brought him and Soderbergh together for a third time in the thriller The Bitter Pill. In 2014, Tatum was heard lending his voice to animated fare like The Lego Movie and The Book of Life, while also co-starring in the blockbuster sequel 22 Jump Street. Seen on screens in the fall, Tatum portrayed wrestler Mark Schultz in the critically acclaimed dramaFoxcatcher, co-co-starring Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo.
In 2015, Tatum returned to his very popular role as a male stripper in the sequel Magic Mike XXL. He also has another major film project in the works. He will be starring as the title character in Gambit, a spin-off from the X-Menfilm series.

Family Life

On May 30, 2013, Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in London.

Channing Tatum Has Left the ‘Gambit’ Solo Movie

Posted by Unknown on 02:34
Marvel
UPDATE #2: After all that, Tatum has agreed to return to star in Gambit, officially signing a new, more lucrative contract with Fox. More details here.
UPDATE: The Wrap now says that Tatum is “planning” to leave Gambit, but has yet to officially depart the project. Stay tuned for more...
Lots of superhero news today, but not all of it is good (depending on your perspective): Channing Tatum has officially exited the Gambit solo movie, even though the actor recently appeared with the X-Men and Deadpool casts at Comic-Con, where he participated in a very memorable group selfie.
The Wrap brings the sad news of Tatum’s departure from the project, which he was (and still may be) producing with his partner Reid Carolin. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is set to helm the X-Men spinoff / solo film, which is based on a treatment from X-Men comics writer and Gambit character creator Chris Claremont.
Tatum reportedly recently began screen-testing with actresses for a potential leading role, including Blue Is the Warmest Color and Spectre star Lea Seydoux. The actor has also been talking up his preparation for the role — including his accent and costume plans — in the media during his press rounds for Magic Mike XXL.
It’s unclear why Tatum has suddenly exited the project, though The Wrap cautions that a source close to production has said that Tatum’s reps are still in “active discussions” with Fox, but adds “something is up.” Something must have definitely gone awry for Tatum to leave the project so quickly, as it’s long been one of his passion projects and he’s been incredibly dedicated.
Gambit was set to begin shooting this fall for an October 7, 2016 release date, but if Tatum is totally off the film, Fox will have to act fast to replace him or they risk a major delay.
